JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu on Sunday visited the collection centre established in Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk and interacted with donor NGOs and individuals. He appreciated the efforts being made by civil society for assisting district administration in helping the flood affected people.
Dr Raj Thapa, Incharge Collection Centre and K.K Razdan AD Nodal Officer accompanied the DC.
It was informed that the relief material collected and distributed so far included about 5,570 blankets received of which 2,670 have been distributed, 2,991 Tarpal received and 2,297 distributed and 150 kg dry ration has also been distributed. About 40 cartons of ready to eat food and 19 boxes of medicines besides cooked food have been distributed to about 38000 people.
It was apprised that the contributors included Red Cross Jammu, Helping hands group Yamuna Nagar, Jammu Pharmaceuticals distributors Association, Jammu, Warehouse Traders Association, Shiv Vaishno Flour Mills Bari Barhmana, Priyadarshini Girls Hostel JU, Guru Shabd Prachar Sabha and Gursikh Istree Suhana Satsang Jammu, Rupali Talab Tillo Jammu, employees of TPL Plastics Industry and Air Abhniav Poonch and Kuldeep Raj Gupta Shastri Nagar.
