‘Public participation must to check growing corruption’

JAMMU: In connection with the Vigilance Awareness Week 2016, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) on Friday organised a programme on theme ‘Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption’.
The programme was organised by Dr. S.K Sharma, Professor Swami Vivekananda Chair and Chief Vigilance Officer of CUJ which was graced by the Chief Guest Kuldeep Khoda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner and presided by Prof. R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Khoda laid stress on the integrity, duties and responsibilities of citizens and professionals in various fields. He asked the law enforcement agencies to take into consideration the growing corruption. He further stressed that practicability of law being framed in order to eradicate corruption. Prof. R.D Sharma laid stress on the three keys Conduct, Character and Commitment to contain the corruption and uphold the ethics in public life. He added that there should be probity in public life and accountability while performing the duties. Earlier, Dr. S.K Sharma pointed out the remarks that public participation is essential in order to bring integrity and honesty in public life and all functionaries of the government. Prof. Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordina-tor of Central University of Jammu presented vote of thanks while Dr. Shivetembri, Assistant Professor conducted the proceedings of the programme.
