BJP has once again proved its political vulnerability in Jammu and Kashmir. After giving an undertaking to agitating AIIMS Coordination Committee about setting up of the institute in Jammu, the Deputy Chief Minister has not been able to have it circulated through the official media in the same spirit. The government handout sums up the parleys by stating that those on Dharna have been informed that the matter has already been taken up with the Centre. This ends the entire story.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the BJP to indulge in deception by saying something to the agitating civil society and giving out something different through the designated channels of disseminating governmental commitments?
