Palpable pacifism helps solve Kashmir unrest in youths

Dr PP Singh Sudan
Statements, issued by BJP stalwards on Kashmir turmoil and encountered by its alliance partner PDP has to be understood in its political perspective as both the parties are committed to people’s aspirations for development and mandate of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh for equal and uniform progress of all the three regions. A friendly atmosphere in the alliance with close sense of under standing shall make the alliance partners to survive the spurt in violence in Kashmir which has to be tackled in a diplomatic manner without hurting the sentiments of any section of society which ultimately constitute group of people living in the State. The perpetrators of the violence are not innocent students in Kashmir but are those who provoke and instigate them for violence. Students are innocents and have to be dealt very cautiously. Though they are not safe at the hands of anti-nationals still they need healing touch, love and affection.
The loss of properties, loss of education in school colleges and university going students, disruption of normal life, affecting tourism and obstructing development works going on in the Kashmir province are some of the issues which carries more attention of the Govt. assured them during election campaigns but did not fulfill. The observations of interlocutors particularly pertaining to Kashmiri youths and their aspiration were not understood. The Govt. has to take youths especially unemployed and students with confidence for the promises made with them from time to time. Some of them are living hand to mouth after demonetisation, the street boys who are stone pelters require greater attention. They are tender aged people and get easily carried away by anti nationals. They need proper directions by engaging them in a meaningful dialogue which may leave an everlasting impression in their minds. Therefore this turmoil has taken a u turn instead of political dialogue, youth have plunged into a conflict directly with the security forces which is very dangerous, though the security forces are maintaining strick restraint, however anything can happen after crossing extreme limits. The stone pelter who are mostly students are being funded by Pak agents in the Valley. The money received in the Valley by Pak agents through Hawala which has recently been found by NIA besides exposing the separatists their nefarious design to spoil the budding carrier of youths of the Valley by way of Wahabism. The students involvement in the unrest in Kashmir is a straight way instigation and provocation by anti-nationals and funding of stone pelters by direct involvement of Pak embassy people in Delhi has come to light recently. This is very dangerous and the Govt. of India must act on such embassy officials immediately and ask them to leave the country. Pakistan aiding and abetting terrorists in Kashmir since 1989 has virtually spoiled the aged old brotherhood and culture of Kashmir.
The killing of BSF and army soldiers on IB and LoC by Pak Army regulars and Jihadis further infuriated the relations between two neighbour countries and the India’s firm resolve to retaliate and take revenge may cause tension/escalation on the border and Pakistan losing the status of most favoured nation by India.
The unrest in Kashmir is required to be dealt with Atmost care by separating students from militants. The militants have to be dealt with heavy hands, the situation there is almost similar to one in 1990.
The fleshing out of militants by security forces by operations clean sweep and all out will ease the situation and the Govt. must go very cautiously. The problems of youths in Kashmir must be understood and removed by generating various employment opportunities, like recruitment in belt forces and other departments in the Govt. by fair selection.
No parents in Kashmir want their wards to get killed or involved in stone pelting as has been observed by personal interviews of some of students caught by security forces. Parents are sending them to school, colleges and universities for getting good education but instead they get entrapped in stone pelting under the influence of anti nationals and Pak agents. They are innocents and do not know what for they are doing all this and also do not under stand the meaning of Azadi. The real perpetrators are behind the curtain and are responsible for the deaths and trauma of these boys and girls. The NIA has brought some of the key culprits under heavy scanning for terror funding a root cause of turmoil in the Valley. The killing of Amarnath Yatris and security personnel including the men from Police Department have made the security forces to liquidate the militants responsible for this heineous crime.
Therefore, a lenient views and soft policies have to be adopted while dealing with people of this class in the Valley and days are not far whan they will understand it and come to the national main steam.
