NC’s successes on peace, developmental fronts leave opponents in disarray: Rana

STATE TIMES NEWS
NAGROTA: Carrying forward his election campaign across the Nagrota Assembly constituency, Provincial President, Devender Singh Rana on Thursday called upon the electorate to give a massive mandate to National Conference for continuing the march of peace, progress and development.
“A government with decisive mandate alone can meet the challenges confronted to sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir”, he said while addressing a series of meetings at Jandyal Lower, Mathwar, Bhagani and Showa, adding that the past six years have witnessed the state overtaking the phase of uncertainty and entering into new phase of development.
On this occasion, Peoples Democratic Party leader Bagh Hussain joined the National Conference.
Rana, who is NC candidate for Nagrota, said times have proved that all the difficulties can be surmounted if there is a strong will. The government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah braved numerous odds and compulsions on the political front over the years but never dithered in its responsibility of giving the people a responsive administration. He said the successes on various fronts frustrated the power-hungry political outfits who found their space shrinking and therefore kept indulging in misinformation campaign to mislead the public opinion. “They did not succeed in their vicious game-plan”, he added.
The Provincial President said that National Conference got engaged in the task of development from day-one after taking over the lead role in 2009 in the wake of turbulent situation. The people know how difficult the take off was for Omar Abdullah given the situation at the beginning of the present government but his single-minded approach made all the difference, he said adding that as a result of concerted efforts the State is placed at a good stead on the path of progress and development.
Referring to the development of Nagrota, Rana said the constituency could have progressed immensely owing to its proximity to the capital city but lack of proper representation seems to have come into the way. Still, he said, a strong edifice has been laid during the past few years, which has transformed the profile of this constituency in a big way. “This is just a beginning of the destination to make Nagrota a model constituency”, he said and unfolded his vision of Nava Jammu.
“The idea of Nava Jammu has generated a hope among the people, especially youth who want to be a part of this process”, the Provincial President said and exuded confidence that the voters will make a sincere beginning towards achieving this goal by stamping their choice for National Conference in the ensuing polls. He said the vision of Nava Jammu has generated enthusiasm among the people of Nagrota and vowed to accomplish this mission with renewed vigour.
The Provincial President welcomed Hussain in the party fold, who pledged to work for strengthening National Conference and ensuring magnificent victory of its nominee. He lauded the efforts of Rana for changing the developmental profile of Nagrota.
