RAMNAGAR: The Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC) Ramnagar Renu Dogra awarded simple imprisonment of three years to accused Madan Lal son of Amarnath resident of Incha, Ramnagar in the case No 107/Challan under section 420 RPC.
According to the case, the accused Madan Lal cheated an illiterate person of the village namely Jagat Ram in 2012. The accused went to Jagat Ram and obtained his four photographs and signatures and told him that he would make his labour card.
Instead of making his labour card he used his photographs and signatures for securing a loan from JCC Bank. Since the bank did not receive installments from the loanee Jagat Ram, it sent a notice demanding Rs 1,68,864 which was received by Jagat Ram on 8th June 2012. He went to the accused Madan Lal and inquired the matter where he was abused and threatened of dire consequences. He then reported the case to police and a case FIR 93/2012 was registered against Madan Lal and others under section 420/506 RPC. After going through the case and hearing the prosecution and the defence counsel, the JMIC Ramban held that the prosecution has been able to prove the offence under section 420 RPC.
The JMIC Ramnagar Renu Dogra while announcing her judgment held that the accused Madan Lal son of Amarnath is convicted for the commission of offence under section 420 RPC and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment of three years and a fine of Rs 5,000. She further ordered that in case he fails to make payment, he shall further undergo simple imprisonment for two months.
