India Handball captain meets trainees of Arun Academy

JAMMU: Former India Handball captain, Balwinder Singh visited the fast growing Arun Sharma Handball Academy to interact and guide young trainees. He spent quality time with players advising them to work hard to attain success.
Moved to the United States after seeking voluntary retirement from the J&K Police with his last rank being Superintendent of Police (SP), Balwinder is a frequent visitor to his home town of Jammu.
An outstanding cricketer and Basketball player as well, Balwinder led the Indian Handball team in first appearance in the 2nd Asian Games at China in 1978. Later, he represented the country in 1982 Asian Games at Delhi.
The interesting story of Balwinder turned out to be something encouraging for the target boys and girls, who patiently listened to the hero of the past.
Former India players, Sukhdev Singh (DySP) and Akshay Khajuria (DySP) also spoke to the gathering of young trainees and other senior players and members of the Trust.
“We never missed any chance to invite celebrity Handball players of the past to the ground for interaction with young trainees. Such meetings certainly encourages the youngsters to do well,” said member trustee of Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust, Ashutosh Sharma.
