IGP Jammu reviews security for Republic Day

JAMMU: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar held a security review meeting for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration in Police Control Room Jammu, in which DIG’s and SSsP of Jammu district besides Paramilitary Forces & Central Intelligence Agencies also participated.
While briefing the senior Police officers Kumar, discussed various security arrangements to be made for the smooth and incident free celebration of Republic Day -2015. A team of officers comprising DIG Jammu, SSP Security, SSP Jammu, have been tasked with the responsibility of visiting the venue of Republic Day function and take security measures to secure the place, besides SSP traffic has been directed to make proper traffic Police plan and to ensure uninterrupted movement of public transport/ private vehicles alongwith smooth movement of protect persons.
In the meeting, a need for coordination among sister agencies was felt to provide fool-proof security to the VVIP’s and all participating people.
Rajesh Kumar exhorted the officers present in the meeting that it is time to remain extremely vigilant and alert during the coming Republic Day celebration. For the celebration to be peaceful, it is imperative to launch sustained offensive against the anti-national, anti–social elements. Police needs to be people friendly ensuring best possible security environment with least inconvenience, he added.
The meeting was attended among others which include; IGP Armed Jammu, S.A Watali , DIG JKS Range Jammu, Shakeel A Beig, DIG (OPS) CRPF, Narinder Singh, DIG CID Jammu, Surinder Gupta, SSP Security Jammu, Ramesh K Angral, SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand SSP Traffic, Mohan Lal, SSP PCR Jammu, Ashok Sharma, SSP APCR Jammu, Sham Sunder Sharma, Hqrs. 16 Corps, Col. H.S Gill, Hqrs. 26 Inf. Div, Col. A.K Mathur , SP CID SB Jammu, Yogesh Sharma and other territorial SPs of Jammu District.
