Gani of Punjab lifts Moori Dangal title

REASI: Pahalwan Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab lifted the 66th edition of the Moori Keasri Dangal defeating Mohit of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi at village Moori, near Middle School in tehsil Katra of district Reasi.
For winning the title bout, Abdul Gani presented with a cash prize of Rs 41,000 while runners-up Mohit given away Rs. 30,000. In the 2nd main bout, Nisar of district Doda, who serves with J&K Police, trounced Sonu of Taran Taran Patti in Punjab to receive a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. Sonu got Rs. 16,000.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest o th occasion while retired SP, Prithvi Raj Sharma and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were the guests of honour.
Dangal was organized by Peer Baba Dangal Committee Moori in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of former Sarpanch, Ramesh Chander (president), Om Parkash and Tarsem Kumar.
Members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this one day Dangal were Ramesh Kumar (president), Om Parkash, Tarsem Kumar, Mohan Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Maheshwar Singh, Devinder Kumar (Naib Sarpanch), Sher Ali Jakkin Ali, Jogashwar, Hans Raj , Mohinder , Sonu Nasib Chand, Sat Paul Verrma and Om Parkash Verma.
In all, 54 bouts were played in this dangal which costs the organisers Rs. 3,28, 000, a handout issued here today informed.
The Results(top bouts): Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu bt Baboo of Punjab; Surjeet of J&K Police bt Bheem of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi; Ajay Sharma of Udhampur bt Shivam of Delhi.
