Compensation to terrorists jolt to PM’s war on terrorism: Pawan

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: PDP-BJP Government putting premium on terrorism and emboldening the terrorist forces involved in perpetuating unrest in Jammu and Kashmir for the last three decades by awarding them compensation from State Exchequer has given a jolt to the proactive initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demolish the terrorist network as well as befitting attack on black money through demonetisation by declaring Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes as illegal tender, thereby depriving these forces of the illegal funding from across the border and counterfeit currency being circulated by such forces by awarding ex-gratia payments to slain militants’ families and Over Ground Workers (OGWs).
This was stated by Pawan Gupta, MLA Udhampur in a press conference held here on Wednesday.
He said it is irony that none else but his own PDP-BJP Coalition Government is diluting his hard attack on terrorist outfits by awarding compensation to the terrorist and its over ground workers’ families.
Terming it as a cruel joke and setback to the daring steps taken by Modi, he said that the aforesaid move is a sheer detriment to the security interests of this sensitive State.
He alleged that situation is deteriorating with each passing day after the incumbent Government took over the reins, which can be well gauged from the chronological events/incidents taking place indicating encouragement to the anti-nationalist and secessionist forces including mishandling the NIT Kashmir incident, removal of bunkers raised for security reasons, transfer of Army Land, inaction against waving of ISIS and Pakistani flags, permitting secessionist forces to hold anti-national seminars, disallowing the Abhinabh Gupt Yatra, imposition of illegal and unconstitutional Jazia i.e. tax on helicopter service used for religious services, amendment to Transfer of Property Act and Land Alienation Act in serious prejudice to the economy and industrial growth of the State and also robbing many people of their livelihood, ensuring release of en-mass of the stone-pelters, failure of the State Government to establish Sainik and Kashmiri Pandit colonies in valley, mishandling situation arising after killing of Burhan Wani, soft secessionist statements made by both Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister expressing empathy with Burhan Wani’s family, Sales Tax amnesty to habitual and chronic tax evaders and finally by way of compensation to Burhan Wani’s family viz. Rs. 4 lakh on account of death of Khalid Wani Hijbul Mujahidin over-ground worker killed in April 2015 in sheer violation of the standing government rules which in fact are meant for compensation to the victims of militancy and not for the people being part of militancy.
Expressing dismay, he said that BJP has divorced its basic ideology practiced and propagated for the last 65 years and has shown utter disdain and disrespect to the sentiments of nationalist and patriotic forces by completely surrendering to the PDP for the sake of power and also at all times displayed utter political and intellectual bankruptcy and hammered a blow to the PM’s move to thwart terrorism.
It is also a matter of concern that BJP never raised voice of Amarnath victims and kins of security forces personnel martyred during insurgency operations, he said adding these circumstances make even a prudent person to believe that the Government has failed to function in accordance with the Constitution.
Terming the situation as alarming, he demanded imposition of Governor Rule by invoking Section 92 of J&K State Constitution to contain separatists/terrorists forces.
