BJP making vague statements on Rohingyas, Bangladeshis to hoodwink people: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Accusing the BJP of making vague nauseating statements over the issue of illegal foreign nationals settled in Jammu including Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, described the same as yet another attempt of the saffron brigade to hoodwink the people of Jammu region.
He said that while the Dogras were seething with rage against the illegal settlement of foreign nationals, with a design, in and around Jammu, the BJP leaders were making ludicrous demands and abstruse and incongruous statements in a vain bid to mislead the public.
Referring to the statement of Dr. Jitendra Singh seeking investigation into the antecedents of these foreign nationals, Singh wanted to know as to whom “Union MoS in PMO” was addressing, this being his third such statement on Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. And what was required to be investigated further when it was stated in last session of Assembly that they were foreign nationals with 17 FIRs against them and 38 cases for illegal border crossing? asserted Singh.
He said that occupying prominent position in the highest office of the country, Dr. Singh was supposed to take decisions rather than making demands adding further that the policy of “hunting with the hound and running with the hare” shall prove disastrous for the BJP.
He said that power hungry leaders seemed to have hypnotised themselves into believing that the people of Jammu were naive and that anything could be dished out to them. He said that BJP’s hypocrisy and betrayals will cost the party its postal address at the hustlings. He was speaking in a meeting of Panthers Party convened in Jammu on Tuesday.
Accusing the BJP-PDP Government of ushering in a new era of patronised corruption and mis governance in the State, Singh said that BJP had shamelessly refused to order any enquiry into the conduct of those ministers who were accused publically of converting illegal and dirty cash during demonetisation drive. He said that ministers functioning had further come under scanner when it was reported in the recent session of Assembly that around 2,000 pre-mature transfers had been effected in various government departments during 21 months. He said that the ruling ministers further stood exposed for their private sojourns outside the State at public expense. He said that huge cavalcades of vehicles carried by the ministers on tours and even during their private functions constituted a financial irregularity of a grave nature besides of various government orders issued on austerity measures.
Pointing towards the pathetic plight of the daily rated and casual workers of PHE, R&B, M and RE, Health besides ReTs and NHM workers, Singh decried the government for its failure to ensure the release their time bound salaries which remained pending for years. He said that while the ministers and MLAs had voted themselves whopping salaries and perks besides doubling their CDF, TA, DA, housing and car loans, no decision was taken to enhance the wages of labourers and casual workers. He said that such self centred and power hungry politicians would soon meet their waterloo as and when elections were held.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yash Paul Kundal called for strict vigil in the implementation of MG-NREGA schemes cautioning the concerned officers to refrain from unfair conduct. They called for observance of proper procedure in the ongoing delimitation of Panchayats and said that any violation thereof would not be allowed to go unpunished.
The JKNPP paid rich tributes to the four officers of J&K Bank who lost their lives in a tragic accident at Kathua yesterday. While condoling the untimely and sad demise of Mohan Singh, Rakesh Singh Charak, Ajay Koul and Anil Gupta the party observed two minute silence and prayed for peace to the departed souls. The meeting unanimously passed resolution calling upon J&K Bank to provide all kind of assistance including compassionate appointments to the dependents of affected families.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Partap, Vilakshan Singh, Gorkha, Paramjit Marshal, Khajoor Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Sanjit Sharma, Raj Kumar, Arun Khajuria, Mohinder Singh, Vishav Singh, Nirmal Kishore, Rajesh Gondhi and Dharam Singh Bittu.
