R S PURA: On the directions of SDM RS Pura Vikash Kundal and the Municipal Committee an anti-encroachment team conducted a drive and booked 96 shopkeepers who had spread out their goods outside their shops and made encroachment on the road and footpath in spite of repeated warnings. The team comprising Tehsildar Sohan Lal Rana, SDPO Surinder Choudhary, SHO B.S Manhas, EO Municipalty Jodh Raj, Food Safety Officer Manoj Bali inspected the main Bazaar and Tehsil Bazaar RS Pura and found 96 shopkeepers making encroachment.
As many as 19 shopkeepers were fined on the spot and recovered a sum of Rs 6,550 while 77 shopkeepers were booked to face their cases in the court of law. The shopkeepers were again warned not to make encroachments on the roads and paths which causes jams and inconvenience to the public.
