40 bovines rescued, 7 smugglers nabbed

RAMBAN: Continuing with its special drive against bovine smuggling, Police on Saturday foiled various bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 40 bovines and arresting seven smugglers at Banihal and Rajouri Districts.
According to a report, on specific information, police party led by SI Mohd Irfan Wani In-Charge Police Post Jawhar Tunnel and SHO Banihal Inspr Tariq Naik under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohd Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar, laid a special Naka at Jawhar Tunnel and Old Toll post Banihal on NHW 44.
During checking, police party intercepted two autos Tata Magic bearing registration No. JK19- 2927 and JK19- 2160 driven by Jafar Ahmed son of Mohd Yousaf Wani resident of Ramsoo and Reyaz Ahmed Dar son of Bashir Ahmed Dar resident of Zanihal Tehsil Banihal District Ramban.
During checking, eight bovines in total were found to be loaded in both autos in a cruel manner. On this, drivers of both vehicle were arrested and a case FIR No. 72/2015 u/s 188 RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered against him at Police Station Banihal.
At old Toll Post Banihal, Auto No. JK19-2199 driven by Reyaz Ahmed Wani son of Abdul Rehman Wani resident of Chakka Sarbagni was intercepted by police party and during checking four bovines were found to be loaded for transportation from Banihal to Srinagar without any permission.
Accordingly, driver of vehicle was arrested and a case under FIR No. 73/2015 section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act was registered against him at Police Station Banihal.
Meanwhile, Rajouri Police led by In-charge Police Station Manjakote SI Sunil Parihar under the supervision of SDPO Manjakote Zakir Shaheen Mirza, , on Saturday laid a Naka at Dheri Ralyote National Highway.
During a Naka, police seized one TATA mobile bearing registration No. JK11A 3680 driven by Yasir Hussain son of Mohd Sharief resident of Ninganar along with Saleem Khan son of Mohd Iqbal resident of Nayali Manjakote and rescued three bovines. The police has arrested both the smugglers and seized the vehicle. A case under FIR No. 29/2015 section 188 RPC 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Manjakote.
Similarly, SHO Police Station Kandi SI Haji Bashir Hussain laid a Naka at Kandi arrested two bovine smugglers namely Shah Mohd and Showket Hussain both sons of Mohd Amin resident of Bhella Koteranka and rescued 15 bovines which was on its way from Kandi to Dubjian, Shopian via Taleni-Gura Batta without any permission.
A case under FIR No.34/2015 section 188RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Kandi.
