Amir Khan wins 53rd Aghar Jitto Dangal title

JAMMU: Wrestler Amir Khan of Nargada defeated Tinku of Rohtak in Haryana in the main bout to claim the 53rd Aghar Jitto Kesari title. Part of the five-day Mela, Dangal was organised by Baba Jitto Development Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association at village Aghar Jitto in district Reasi.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar was Chief Guest, who distributed cash prizes among the wrestlers in presence of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Baba Mohan Lal ji, Sarpanch Krishan Singh (Pappu), ZEO Gopal Krishan, Romesh Kumar Sanmotra, Varinder Badyal and Joginder Singh.
Winner of the title bout, Amir was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000
along with traditional
Gurj (Gadda) and Patta while runners-up Tinku got Rs 6,000. In all, 47
bouts were decided in this day-long event.
The second main bout went to Vikas of Haryana who defeated Asif of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu. Vikas was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 while Asif given away Rs 4,000. In third main bout, Nigam of UP outplayed Sher Mohd. of Reasi and the fourth bout won by Gujjar of UP beating Hossiar Singh of Reasi.
Members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this wrestling event included Om Parkash Malkotra, Sunil Kholi, Jugal Kishore Sharma (Bunty), Krishan Chand Verma, Mangat Ram, Bansi Lal, Bodh Raj, Om Parkash, Bishan Dass, Romesh Kumar, Ram, Pt. Rameshwar, Mohinder Kumar, Deepak Singh Wazir, Deeraj Kesar, Lehar Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Varinder Badyal, Master Ram Krishan and Murli Dhar (Munna).
