JAMMU: Condemning BJP senior leader Dayashankar Singh for his derogatory remark on BSP Chief Mayawati, All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) demanded legal action and his immediate arrest.
“The controversy sparked aftermath the statement of Singh was also echoed in the Rajya Sabha with all the members denouncing the uncalled for behaviour of a senior political functionary. It was unacceptable that a woman of such a stature who remained on the post of Chief Minister of UP four times and also was Member Parliament, is subjected to such a treatment by a senior leader of a party which is heading the central dispensation”, the members of AIBCU said during a meeting held here.
Calling it part of sequence of attacks on Shudras particularly Dalit women, the meeting demanded action against Singh under SC/ST Act which advocates for the arrest of person having such a mentality. Also condemning the Gujarat incident, the meeting strongly batted for providing justice to victims of such happenings.
“Expulsion of Dayashanker Singh from the party is not sufficient as it requires legal action under which he should be arrested and be sent to jail for a lesson to others to restrain from indulging in such acts”, the meeting resolved.
Central Committee members of AIBCU including M.R Bangotra (Retired CEO) and Prof. Kali Dass also spoke in the meeting.
