Anil Gupta, Managing Director said that under the Drug Testing category, this lab has the capability to test drugs and pharmaceuticals of all the categories including microbiological analysis of sterile products.
He further said that this lab is fully capable to perform food testing of different matrices like Nutraceuticals, Beverages (alcoholic and nonalcoholic), cereals and bakery products, spices, milk and milk products, fruits and vegetables, non-veg products (fish, poultry and mutton). .
All the food items (fresh and processed) can be tested to detect the presence of various residual impurities like pesticides, elements, aflatoxins, antibiotics, ethylene oxide etc. etc. It is pertinent to mention that presence of these impurities is causing cancers, birth defects, organ failures and other life threatening diseases to the general public.
He further emphasised that this is the only lab in J&K which has the capability to perform to water quality test of all types like surface, ground, potable, packaged drinking water and mineral water.
This lab has also started testing of water from households, schools, swimming pools, hospitals, and dialysis centres etc.
