JAMMU: One Assistant Engineer (AE) among four officer/officials of Rural Development Department Block Baghati-Kanipora was arrested by Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) for misappropriating funds in construction of number of latrine points in Halqa Dooniwari.
According to report, VOK on Wednesday arrested Tanveer Ahmad Dar, AE Sub Division B K Pora, Tariq Ahmad Sheikh Technical Assistant to MGNREGA Block B K Pora, Riyaz Ahmad Mir, MPW and Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Misger, then Sarpanch Halqa Dooniwari in case FIR No. 06/2015 Police Station VOK under Section 5(1) c, 5(1)d read with 5(2) of J&K P.C Act Samvat 2006 and Section 120-B RPC.
The case was registered after conducting the verification into the allegations that the officers/officials of Rural Development Department of Block Baghati-Kanipora have misappropriated government money in construction of number of latrine points in Halqa Dooniwari. During the course of inspection of randomly selected 37 beneficiaries of TSC, it was found that 13 latrine points were non-existent and an amount of Rs.66, 300 was misappropriated during 2012-13.
