‘Adjust KP employees posted in Kashmir to safer places’

JAMMU: Panun Kashmir and ADKPUF, the constituents of the Joint Forum of KP Organizations, expressed dismay over the manner in which the PM Package Youth employees had to return from Kashmir after having been subjected to a harrowing time in the wake of the conditions that erupted following the killing of Burhan Wani.
The members expressed concern at the recent turn of events in Kashmir that have re enkindled the fears and apprehensions in the minds of the beleaguered KP community regarding the safety and security of the youth who have gone to serve in Kashmir under the PMs employment package.
The meeting was attended by D.N Kissu Chairman ADKPUF, Prof M.L Raina Chairman Political Affairs Committee PK, Virender Raina National Spokesman PK and Joint Forum, P.N Raina, P.L Sudeshi, Prof G.L Koul, Chaman Lal Koul, Chaman Lal Zutshi, Upinder Koul, Kamal Bagati, Vijay Qazi, Ravi Punjabi and N.M Gadroo. Kissu while addressing the meeting said that all Kashmir centric entities have voiced their visceral opposition to the re settlement of KPs in a compact manner in Kashmir. Virender Raina in his address said that under these circumstances the resettlement of KPs in Kashmir is only possible in a safe, secure and separate homeland, with built-in constitutional guarantees to ensure that there is no re-foulment in future. The recent incident of inhuman and barbaric treatment meted out to the KP employees at various settlements in Kashmir should open the eyes of the government and also stir the conscience of the civilised world towards the continuous persecution of the KPs over the years. Raina urged upon the government to adjust the KP employees posted in Kashmir to safer places like Jammu.
Prof M.L Raina said that the government is also urged to bring a Bill in the next Assembly session for the protection and preservation of the Temples and Shrines in Kashmir as under the circumstances obtaining in Kashmir the very existence of these places of reverence, worship and ancient antiquity is under threat of extinction. The members unanimously appealed to the government to grant minority status to Kashmiris Pandits and declare them internally displaced so as to bolster confidence in them and also urged upon the government to increase substantially the KP footprints in the politico-administrative set up of the State.
