SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bhartiya Janata Party celebrated 75th Accession Day at party headquarter Srinagar.
BJP Senior leader and Waqf chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi and other senior leaders celebrated Accession Day with vigour at Party headquarter near Jawahar Nagar.
The National Flag was also hoisted on the occasion while paying glorious tributes to the great Maharaja Hari Singh. Party senior leaders were also present on the occasion.
Waqf Chairperson and MOS Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi told reporters in the sideline of function that, this is great day for us, this was the day when Maharaja made Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India.
She added that Instrument of Accession signed by Maharaja Hari Singh was full and final in which he unite the whole of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India and this step that was endorsed by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah formerly merging the State of J&K with the India
She called the day to be celebrated as a festival with each individual pledging to protect the unity and integrity of the state against any forces that may seek to undermine its connection with the India. She added that previous governments ditched Maharaja and the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
She highlighted that on August 5, 2019 a historic decision has ushered in peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir, the situation is normal now. In Kashmir no shutdown or any kind of unrest is seen anywhere, situation is getting better and lakhs of visitors are visiting Kashmir. The UT has hosted international events and witnessed record tourist footfall. The biggest change after abrogation of article is that the common people of Jammu and Kashmir are living according to their own wishes.
