ACB presents chargesheet against former Patwari among others for illegal land mutation

JAMMU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) presented chargesheet against Vipan Kumar, former Patwari Halqa Rajal Nowshera, Rajouri and others in a case of illegal mutation of land.
As per an official spokesperson, the ACB produced chargesheet in a case registered vide FIR No. 04/2017 under Section 5 (1) (d) read with 5 (2) J&K PC Act 2006 and Section 120-B of RPC at Police Station ACB against Vipan Kumar, the then Patwari Halqa Rajal, Nowshera, son of Late Chuni Lal, resident of House No. 29, Janipur, Jammu, Lal Man (now expired), the then Naib Tehsildar, Agrarian Reforms, Rajal, son of Kahan Singh, resident of Village Bera Mehrote, Tatapani, Kalakote and beneficiary namely Sudershan Kumar, son of Late Amar Nath Lakhanpal, resident of Colonel Colony, Satwari, Jammu, at present House No. D-601, Orchid Enclave, Chandibali, Mumbai in the Court of Addl. Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Rajouri.
He further said that accused person namely Sudershan Kumar, son of Late Amar Nath Lakhanpal, resident of Colonel Colony, Satwari, Jammu, at present House No. D-601, Orchid Enclave, Chandibali, Mumbai managed allotment/mutation No. 187 dated May 17, 1982 for land measuring 48 Kanals and 4 Marlas situated at village Rajal, Nowshera, District Rajouri in connivance with revenue officials and caused huge loss to the Govt. by acquiring aforementioned allotment of Govt. land by illegal means through accused revenue officials and thereby sold out aforesaid land for monetary benefits, he added.
The revenue officials namely Vipan Kumar, the then Patwari Halqa Rajal, Nowshera and Lal Man (now expired), the then Naib Tehsildar, Agrarian Reforms, Rajal entered/recorded and attested mutation No. 187 dated May 17, 1982 for land measuring 48 Kanals and 4 Marlas situated at village Rajal, Nowshera, District Rajouri in favour of accused beneficiary Sudershan Kumar son of Late Shri Amar Nath Lakhanpal without lawful justification and entitlement in blatant abuse of power and committed offences mentioned above, he added.
The spokesperson further said that ACB Jammu after thorough investigation submitted chargesheet of the case as envisaged under 173 Cr.PC against aforesaid accused persons in the Court of Addl. Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Rajouri on Tuesday for judicial determination, adding that next date of hearing has been fixed on January 28, 2021.
