ACB arrests PDD official red-handed for demanding, accepting bribe

BANDIPORA: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested Javid Ahmad Raina, M.R/Tech-III Power Development Department (PDD), son of Mohammad Yousuf Raina, resident of Gund Pora, Rampora Bandipora while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6500.
Earlier, a complaint was received from the complainant, alleging demand of bribe by PDD employee, for providing electricity connection. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 06/2024 U/S 7 of PC Act 1988 was registered with Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted for laying trap for the accused public servant. The team laid a successful trap and arrested PDD official red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6500 from the complainant.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
