KATHUA: In order to make aware about the rights and duties of the children as consumer, the Department of Legal Metrology Kathua under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Kathua organised an awareness Camp regarding the Consumer rights at Govt. Upper Primary School Barla Chougan Basholi.
The Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Kathua educated the students about their rights while purchasing the day to day goods from the market. The children were made aware about the precautions they have to take while purchasing the day to day goods. The students were informed about the utility of various weights and measures in accurate way by the various traders .They were advised to see zero on the Electronic Weighing Machines before purchasing any commodity.
They were informed that the net quantity of LPG gas in LPG gas Cylinder is 14.200Kg and how to get net weight checking of LPG in the LPG gas Cylinder by the delivery boy of the respective Company.
The resource person asked the students to purchase only BIS of ISI marked goods from the market to ensure quality and to see mandatory declarations like MRP, PKD, net weight, complete address of the manufacturer /packer and consumer helpline Number on the Pre packed commodities
The inspector Legal Metrology Kathua. Vicky Sharma, Head Mistress and Staff of the School were present in the consumer awareness programme. Later Inspector Legal Metrology Kathua presented vote of thanks to the Head Mistress, staff and students of the school for giving their valuable time to the department.
