National Seminar on Bharat-Centric Knowledge held at CUJ

JAMMU: A national seminar titled “NEP-2020 for Viksit Bharat: Integrating Bharatiya Knowledge System with Education” took place at the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, Central University of Jammu. The event was organized by the Central University of Jammu and the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Jammu-Kashmir, and Ladakh Prant. Key dignitaries included Chief Guest B.R. Shankaranand Ji, Akhil Bharatiya Sangathan Mantri, and keynote speaker Prof. Suhas Pednekar Ji.
The seminar commenced with the Saraswati Vandana and ceremonial lamp lighting. Prof. Vandana Sharma welcomed the guests, while Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, articulated the objectives of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal and the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). He emphasized that India’s youth must embrace traditional values to realize a developed nation by 2047.
Dr. Sanjay Pathak highlighted the significance of applying Indian knowledge systems in daily life and emphasized that NEP-2020 aims to position India as a global leader in education.
He underscored the educators’ role in preserving and promoting Indian traditions.
Prof. Suhas Pednekar pointed out that teachers play a crucial role in instilling nationalism among students and urged for education rooted in Bharatiya Knowledge Systems. He stated that this approach would help cultivate a more enlightened generation.
Chief Guest B.R. Shankaranand stressed the importance of Bharat-centric knowledge for holistic individual development, particularly in character formation. He argued that spiritual growth is essential for national progress and urged educators to act as modern-day Vyas Maharishis, imparting Indian cultural values to foster a sense of “Bharatiyata.”
The seminar also featured the felicitation of seven state-level participants for the VIVIBHA National Research Paper Writing Competition.
The event concluded with the recital of the Kalyan Mantra and the National Anthem, followed by paper presentations from VIVIBHA participants and an executive committee meeting of the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal.
