Jammu to face Udhampur in U-19 Cricket final

JAMMU: Hosts district Jammu shall be playing against Udhampur in the title clash of the inter-district Divisional level under-19 boys Cricket Tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, near here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Udhampur beat district Poonch by seven wickets. Batting first Poonch scored 115 runs in 15 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Mohd Irshad played fine innings 51 runs off just 32 balls while Mohd Asif contributed 30-ball 42 runs to the total. From Udhampur, Sachin secured two wickets to remain most successful bowler.
In reply, Udhampur chased the target making 118 runs with seven wickets in hand in 10.5 overs. Royal Partap played match winning knock of 67 runs off 38 deliveries while Mannat contributed 14-ball 20 runs.
In other semifinal, district Jammu defeated Ramban by 10 runs. Jammu scored 81 runs losing nine wickets in allotted 15 overs. Sujal and Aryan were top scorers with 18 and 14 runs in their respective accounts. Nazir Ahmed bowled well taking away five wickets for Ramban.
Batting second, Ramban restricted to a total of 71 runs in the 15 overs quota courtesy team efforts with Sujal, Arman and Shaurya sharing two wickets each. Suresh was the only batsman to touch the double figure mark with 17 runs.
The technical penal in today’s matches comprised Sandeepan Sharma, Sat Paul Singh, Vikram Dogra, Mukesh Kumar, Vishal Balotra, Chander Kiran, Ajay Koul and Manjeet Singh.
