Samba: Samba Police arrested two bovine smugglers, rescued twelve bovines and seized three vehicles in three separate bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Stations Ghagwal and Samba.
As per details, a party of Police Station Ghagwal led by SHO Ghagwal during vehicle checking at Naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted a vehicle Auto load carrier (JK02DC-5704) coming from the Kathua side for checking. During checking, two bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. The bovine smugglers identified as Manjit Singh, son of Hari Singh, resident of Simbal Morh tehsil RS Pura district Jammu and Veer Lal, son of Darshan Lal, resident of Mokhey tehsil Suchetgarh district Jammu have been arrested. A case FIR No. 09/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a party of Police Post Supwal headed by Incharge PP Supwal while on vehicle checking duty at Supwal, signalled a vehicle Mahindra load carrier coming from Samba side to stop for checking. But the driver instead of stopping the vehicle, accelerated the speed and fled away from the naka point. The alert police Naka party chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few metres away near Barian. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. A case FIR No.35/2024 u/s 279,188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 3 PDPP Act, 184 MV Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started. In another instance, a party of Police Post Goran headed by Incharge PP Goran while on patrolling duty near Sumb, intercepted a vehicle Mahindra load carrier (JK02BK-3880) which was moving towards the Samba side. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were rescued which were being transported illegally without any proper permission. A case FIR No. 34/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
