STARTUP INDIA
Today unemployment is one of the biggest socio-economic problems not only of India but of the world. Crores of people are currently facing unemployment in India. Absence of work experience and certain area of income gives birth to poverty and after that this vicious cycle of poverty and unemployment continues forever. In search of better opportunities, youth keep migrating from the village, state or country. As a result of such migration, there is a danger of exploitation of them.
The root cause of youth unemployment is illiteracy and lack of employable skills. Education is the most powerful medium for the prevention of unemployment and poverty. In a broad sense, education can become a solution to almost every socio-economic problem, but its role in unemployment prevention is incomparable.
Under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ by the Government of India, skill development centers have been established at various places for the purpose of skill building among the youth. Through these centres, the skills of the youth are developed through various types of training.
Schemes like Startup India, Standup India are also noteworthy in this context. Under these schemes, various types of grants and tax benefits are provided to technology based industries in India. Through these schemes, the government aims to make the country a hub of manufacturing activities, for which lakhs of skilled youth are needed.
