Plantation drive organised at Excise and Taxation Training Institute, Nagrota

JAMMU: As an initiative under the campaign “Meri Maati Mera Desh” (a nationwide and people led Janbhagidari to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence – Azaadi ka Amrit Mohastav), a plantation drive has been organized at Excise and Taxation Training Institute, Nagrota under the guidance of Excise Commissioner, Pankaj Sharma and execution by Principal Training Institute Rajeev Magotra.
It is informed that the drive has been organized in collaboration with the Forest Department (Social Forestry) and Education Department where the Forest Department officers/officials and students of Govt. Girls Middle School , Nagrota participated.
Under this initiative, about 50 saplings of indigenous plants have been planted in the campus of the institute. It has also been reported that an awareness programme under ‘Vasudha Vandan’ has also been organized for the students to make them aware of such drives and importance of the bond with our Mother Earth.
Furthermore, Panch Pran pledge was taken by all the participants to make India a developed nation, to be proud of rich heritage, remove colonial mindset, strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country and perform the duties of a citizen.
Also to add more colours to this campaign, an eco-friendly Rangoli was displayed on the theme of “Meri Maati Mera Desh”.
Addressing the students and officials on the occasion, Excise Commissioner emphasized on the importance of this nationwide campaign and laid stress on the responsibilities towards the nation as well as the planet as a whole.
Other officers who were present during the occasion were Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Kusum Sharma, Excise and Taxation officer ( North) Anil Chandan and Excise and Taxation officer ( South) Ankit Gupta.
