No housing colonies, commercial sites developed by HUDD for 20 yrs in J&K: MoS Home
BJP MP raises issue of development of Housing infra

NEW DELHI: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has reported that no housing colonies and commercial sites have been developed by the agencies of the Housing and Urban Development during the past more than two decades for any category prior to 2019.
This was disclosed by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in response to a question by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rajya Sabha Er. Gulam Ali on development of Housing Infrastructure in J&K.
Nityanand Rai further informed that however post 2019, Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) has developed Multi-storeyed Housing project at Bemina namely Shehjar Apartments comprising 140 flats spread across 5 residential blocks/towers and these apartments have been allotted to the general public through draw of lots and no provision of reservation for any category was kept in the allotment process.
976 flat accommodation under the EWS category at various stages of development are proposed which include 208 one-room flats by JDA under Mera Bhi Ek GharHoga at Lower Roop Nagar, Muthi, Jammu and 768 Flat accommodation by Housing Board for EWS under PMAY-U at Bhalwal, Jammu.
