JAMMU: The State unit of Shri Ram Sena said that the recent Assembly elections outcome has exposed the real face of Kashmiri leadership.
State President Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan, in a statement issued here on Wednesday said that the truth has come out itself as all the Kashmiri leaders irrespective of their party affiliations and ideologies are mulling a proposal to join hands for keeping Jammu out of power. “The possibility of some politicians from Jammu province leading the State has unnerved the Kashmiri leaders. National Conference, Congress and Peoples Democratic Party are joining hands to see to it that no politician from Jammu becomes Chief Minister of the State. Kashmiris cannot see anyone from Jammu as Chief Minister of the State,” added Rajiv.
Mahajan asserted that the Kashmiri leaders are pursuing the formula purely on communal lines. He termed it as an eye opener for Jammu people and urged them to remain united to fight for the cause of Jammu region and to do away with Kashmiri domination.
Mahajan stated that there is no provision in the State Constitution which says that the office of the Chief Minister is the sole property of Kashmir. “Anyone from the State can become the Chief Minister provided he has the required support behind him”, he added. He said that the J and K State needs a government that treats all sections of society equally at all levels.
Mahajan further said that Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad mulled a proposal of grand alliance between NC, PDP and Congress and Omar Abdullah offered unconditional support to PDP in formation of government. “All this drama was planned to keep Jammu out of power”, he emphasised.
Mahajan questioned that if a Muslim can become President of India and a Sikh can become Prime Minister then why not a Hindu from Jammu can become Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir State? “Do the Kashmiri leaders have any answers? If yes, they should come out with clarification,” he asked. “Kashmiri leaders would commit a blunder if they dare to take the people of Jammu province for granted”, Mahajan added.
