Raina for timely completion of ongoing projects

RAJOURI: Member Legislative Assembly Nowshera, Ravinder Raina on Wednesday stressed upon the officers to expedite the work on ongoing projects for their timely completion so that the public gets benefitted from these vital development projects.
He was speaking in a meeting of district and sectoral officers here at Dak Bungalow Nowshera to review the progress and achievements made under various schemes in respect of Nowshera Assembly.
Present in the meeting were SDM Nowshera, Abdul Sattar, SDM Sunderbani, Kartar Singh, Addl. SP Nowshera, Master Popsy, DSWO, Dr. Abdul Khabir, AD FCS & CA, Javid Iqbal, CHO Kirtan Singh, CAO Mohd Younus, BDO Nowshera, Surinder Singh, BDO Sunderbani, Sandeep Sharma, CEO Lal Hussain, executive engineers of various engineering departments of Nowshera besides other district and sectoral officers.
Referring to the inconvenience faced by the border migrants he stressed upon the concerned to expedite the work on the construction of community and individual bunkers in the border villages so that people can take shelter in case of ceasefire violations. Pertinently the district administration, in the first phase, is constructing around 100 bunkers in various villages situated along LOC.
MLA asked the executive engineer Irrigation and Flood Control to complete the tendering process of Rajal Irrigation Canal, a dream project through which thousands of acres of barren land will be transformed into fertile land suitable for agricultural and horticultural activities at the earliest so that work on ground can be started.
He added that the project will go a long way in uplifting the socio-economic status of people of this border region.
It was informed that certain cases under Old Age Pension and Marriage Assistance schemes are pending due to paucity of funds.
The MLA directed DSWO to furnish the list of such cases within a week time so that matter can be taken up for provision of funds.
The MLA also held a detailed review of PDD, RDD, PHE, PWD, PMGSY, Health, Education, Horticulture, Agriculture and other Departments and stressed upon the officers to ensure timely completion of projects of public importance.
