Vocational training for rural youth concludes

KATHUA: Five days vocational training programme on ‘Pig Farming as an Enterprise’ concluded on Saturday at KVK Kathua under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. Dr. R.K. Arora, Associate Director Extension (KVKs) was the Chief Guest and Dr. Shashi Bhushan, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kathua was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Dr. R.K. Arora, Associate Director Extension (KVKs) emphasised upon the creation and establishment of new ventures to keep rural youth in villages and adoption of rural based enterprises for development of agriculture and allied activities.
Dr. Shashi Bhushan appreciated the efforts of KVK Kathua in organizing a training programme on piggery, Dr. AmrishVaid, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Kathua elaborated the objectives behind organisation of five days vocational training programme on piggery.
Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Sciences) briefed about the coverage of different aspects of pig farming during the vocational training programme. The major speakers were Dr Bishawjeet Brahma, Dr Dipanjali Konwar, Dr Rajinder K Bhardwaj from Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and AH., SKUAST-Jammu, Madan Lal, DDM, NABARD, Kathua, Dr. BrijeshAjrawat and Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma of KVK.
