Implementation woes
Dear Editor,
Since the rate of road accidents and consequent casualties is on steady increase in the capital, the decision of the Aam Aadmi Party Government is welcome. But the proposal must be implemented in true spirit.
Given the track record, it has been observed that after initiating several projects and spending huge amounts for their wide publicity, the Government either ignores the same or lags behind in its tasks sooner than later.
Moreover, despite many positive and innovative steps taken in the past, most victims of road accidents still fail to get timely treatment and succumb to injuries as the eye-witnesses hesitate/fear to take them to a hospital. In fact, this is the crucial impediment.
Hence, certain encouraging measures ought to be taken to educate and motivate the public. If the victims do not reach the hospital, how can they get treatment, free or otherwise?
