JAMMU: Continuation of their support to the complainant of Government Medical College sexual harassment case, students on Tuesday demanded that government should constitute fast track Court to ensure speedy and time-bond justice to the victims of sexual harassments especially those involving student complainants as in this case of sexual harassment at Government Medical College Jammu.
A large number of students under the banner of All Students of Jammu and Kashmir held a protest in Jammu University.
They also submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister seeking termination of accused from his position.
They also demanded for the intervention of Chief Minister fór immediate and swift action to be taken against the accused and he should be given severe punishment, so that future crime against women can be checked. They also requested the CM to issue necessary direction to the concerned departments to establish police cell and 24×7 helpline No in Jammu to handle the cases of sexual harassment against students. “We will continue this fight until justice is delivered to the victim,” they warned.
The protest was terminated after blockage of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Road for some time.
