JAMMU: Speaker, Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta on Sunday asked people to avail the benefits of State and Central Government sponsored schemes and also make the general masses aware regarding the same so that the needy are not deprived of their right. Kavinder was interacting with the locals during his visit at Raipur Satwari, Chapri Mohalla, Narwal Pain and other areas of Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
The locals highlighted few demands pertaining to the repair of irrigation canal, upgradation of transformer, setting up an Aadhar Card camp in the area, old age and widow pension, PHH ration Cards and others.
The Speaker assured that a new upgraded transformer will be installed along with the de-silting of canal within a week and directed the SDM, South and BDO, Satwari to organise an Aadhar Card camp, prepare a list of eligible cases for pension and PHH ration cards. Highlighting the development works, he said the MH Road, CDA Road, Airport Road, Jeevan Nagar Muralian Road along with other main roads of Gandhi Nagar Constituency have been constructed at an approx cost of Rs. 50 Cr. in the last two years.
He added that an amount of Rs. 1.5 Cr has been made available for the immediate requirement pertaining to the up gradation of power infrastructure in the Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
He was accompanied by SDM, South, Sonu Pargal, BDO, Satwari, A.K Khajuria, XEn, EM and RE, Sudhir Gupta, Vice Chairman, Cantonment Board, Lucky, Member Cantonment Board, Bharat Bhushan and other social activists of the area.
