BHADARWAH: In a shocking incident at village Nalwa in Ghat Tehsil of District Doda, a leopard killed 12-year-old boy on Friday late night and also devoured a portion of his body till family members could trace him.
According to reports, Sahil Ahmed (12) son of Ghulam Mohd had gone to toilet near his house at village Nalwa last night when a leopard attacked and completely mauled him.
The incident took place on Friday night when the victim had reportedly gone to answer nature’s call and the twelve-year-old could hardly put any resistance.
When connected SHO Doda Uday Wazir said that when Sahil, didn’t return home till late in the night for dinner, a search operation was started by his parents and the body was recovered from the forest near their house where the leopard had already eaten a portion of the neck and abdomen.
He added that due to heavy snowfall, several wild animals especially leopards have ascended towards villages near forest in search of food.
