JWAM flays Mehbooba’s statement on NIT

JAMMU: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held a protest against the irresponsible statement of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti terming the NIT episode as a non issue, alleging outstation students as trouble shooters and hailing the Pakistan agent Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani’s statement on NIT.
Addressing the protestors, Sunil Dimple President JWAM condemned the statement of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti saying the NIT episode as non issue. Dimple termed Mehbooba’s statement as an irresponsible statement at a time when the whole State and country is in volatile situation on the happenings in NIT Srinagar. Her terming the outstation non Kashmiri students as trouble shooters and appreciating the Pakistan agent and Hurriyat chairman Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani’s role on NIT does not suit well. He said Mehbooba has added salt on the wounds of the nationalist students, people of the State and the country. He said when the inquiry has been ordered then why FIRs were registered against the non local students.
Dimple demanded from the Prime Minister Narinder Modi to visit NIT Srinagar to listen to the grievances of the students and restore their lost confidence in administration.
He said it is a matter of great concern that the HRD Minister, Simriti Irani did not visit the NIT campus to inquire about the plight of the outstation students at the hands of local students, NIT authorities and JK Police.
Dimple demanded BJP to withdraw support from PDP. He demanded the Prime Minister to open NIT in Jammu immediately and migrate all the outstation NIT Srinagar students to Jammu.
The prominent leaders who joined the protest were Raman Gupta, Sham Saroop, Dev Raj, Muna Dogra, Harbans Tondon, Som Nath Sharma, Vijay Khajuria, Vipan Mukesh, Rakesh, Ashok Khana, Raj Kumar Kulwant Sharma and Bansi Lal.
