Nine bovines rescued, 7 smugglers arrested

NOWSHERA: Nine bovines were rescued and seven smugglers were arrested by Nowshera police during the intervening night of 7th/8th April, 2016.
A police team headed by newly posted Addl SP Nowshera Atul Sharma laid a police Naka at Thalka on Jammu Poonch National Highway and intercepted four vehicles. During checking the police recovered nine bovines which were being smuggled to Valley via Mughal road.
The police seized all the four vehicles bearing registration No JK02AN-9692, JK12A-0969, JK02AM-8406 and JK02BK-7532. The police also arrested seven smugglers namely Imtiyaz Ahmed son of Mohd Ali, Mohd Azam son of Abdullah both residents of Mendhar, Salam Din son of Abdul Hamid, Wali Mohd son of Bagh Hussain residents of Siote, Ghulam Mustafa son of Ghulam Mohiodin, Mohd Farooq son of Abdul Rehman and Mushtaq Ahmed son of Abdul Rehman residents of Thannamandi. One of the smuggler managed to escape taking benefit of darkness. The police have registered a case for investigation.
The Addl SP while talking to STATE TIMES said that such Nakas will continue and the people involved in smuggling of bovines will not be spared.
