JAMMU: Various organisation widely condemned the NIT Srinagar incident demanding action action against the culprits.
Vishav Hindu Parishad, Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the brutal attack on students of NIT Srinagar by J and K Police.
VHP State Patron Leela Karan Sharma said that it is unheard of in history of independent India, when any state police unit has ever attacked, Lathicharged students chanting nationalistic slogans.
VHP demanded immediate rustication of Medico involved in flag burning incident at Jammu, rustication and arrest of miscreants at NIT Srinagar involved in threatening students from other states studying in Srinagar.
VHP warned of a nationwide repercussion in case the adequate steps to restore the honour of students are not taken. VHP will send a fact finding team of VHP office bearers to NIT Srinagar to meet the victims of yesterday’s violence and students of NIT.
To lodge protest against ruthless use of force on non-Kashmiri students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Kashmir Valley, hundreds of activists of Team Jammu, under the leadership of its chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal, today held demonstration against failure of the government to protect lives of the students.
Chairman of the SOS International, Rajiv Chunni and President of Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha, Shashi Verma were also present on the occasion along with their supporters.
Hundreds of Team Jammu activists were gathered at Maheshpura Chowk at Bakshi Nagar to express solidarity with the NIT students, who have been facing wrath of the police for the last one week for one or other reason.
He said that Team Jammu will mobilise people from all sections of the society to intensify the on-going struggle to restore shattered confidence of the NIT students.
Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF), an amalgam of over 50 various social, commercial and other organisations, has strongly criticised the State Government for provoking anti-national activities in NIT Srinagar by hurting sentiments of nationalist forces.
While addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, JPPF Working President, M.S Katoch alleged that the government was hell bent to destroy the peace and communal harmony in the State.
Strongly condemning brutal Lathicharge on the non-local students in NIT Srinagar by Jammu and Kashmir police, Katoch demanded judicial probe in the entire incident and strict action against the anti-national elements.
“JPPF unanimously decided to observe complete Bandh in Jammu on 7th April,” he said and appealed to all Jammuites to make the call a success in support of non-local students studying in NIT Srinagar.
Strongly condemning the brutal police action against the non local students studying in NIT Srinagar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded stern action against those officers of the NIT and the police personnel who acted prejudicially and were responsible for aggravating the situation.
General Secretary JKPCC Namrta Sharma condemned the brutal lathi-charge on the students of NIT Srinagar which has left several students severely injured. She demanded a time bound judicial enquiry into the incident of lathicharge and to bring out the lapses in handling of the situation.
BJP State Spokesperson, Prof. Virender Gupta raised question on the credibility of State Police as well as authorities of the NIT Srinagar that why no action was taken against the students who raised anti-India and Pro-Pak slogans on last Thursday and Friday when India got defeated in the T20 tournament.
KP Sabha expressed concern over the NIT situation where clash and lathicharge took place.
ASKPC President Advocate Ravinder Raina appealed to the Union Home Ministry to deal with the situation very tactfully so that the nefarious designs of the separatists who are trying to exploit the situation are defeated.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) questioned the role of NIT Srinagar administration for allowing police to enter in the campus thus indicating the dubious attitude of NIT Administration towards the helpless non-Kashmiri students.
Vice President ASKPC, C.L. Bhat and General Secretary Dr. T.K Bhat condemned the incident and demanded stern action against the culprits.
Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Member National Council BJP and President Srinagar Kashmir also expressed shock the way NIT is being politicalised.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad unit, Central University of Jammu staged a protest over the ongoing unrest at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar.
Democratic Pannun Kashmir has also condemned the brutal police action on non-local students of NIT Srinagar.

State President LJP, Ravi Tickoo along with other members namely Sunidhi Badhrayal, Ashwani Kumar, Puja Rajput, Vishal Kumar, Ajay Rana, Raman Kumar, Ritvik Karlupia and Jyoti Prakash demanded probe in this matter.
President Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Senior Vice President, Gowher Maqbool of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI); President, Kashmir Traders Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), Mohammad Yasin Khan and President, Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK), Mohammad Ashraf Mir also condemned the NIT incident.
State President, Shiv Sena Hindustan, Rajesh Kesari asserted that party will not bear any anti-nationalistic activities in the NIT Campus Srinagar.
“The anti-national elements would have no right to be in the NIT campus, whether they are from the staff or the students,” Kesari told reporters here on Wednesday.
“They should be rusticated from the NIT immediately and are charged with sedition,” he said and demanded the removal of Jammu and Kashmir Police from the NIT campus and in place CRPF should be deputed for security.
Shiv Shakti Sena, J and K staged a protest against the brutal activities and atrocities of police personal upon the innocent students, undergoing their studies in NIT Srinagar, who have come from other states of India.
President, Shiv Shakti Sena, J and K, Rakesh Gupta urged upon the State and Central Government to take serious note of this heinous act and immediately suspend the accused police personals and book them under law.
State President, Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackery, Dimpy Kohli lambasted NDA Government in Centre for not giving proper security cover to Hindu students studying at NIT Srinagar.
Talking to reporters, Dimpy Kohli along with Vice President Sandeep Bhagat, Rajan Gupta and Raj Singh said that life of students belonging to other states is under threat and Modi led NDA Government who took victory in Lok Sabha elections on Hindu cards in now sitting like a mute spectator to all the happenings in NIT Srinagar.
Kohli said that Shiv Sena can’t sit as a mute spectator and extended support for Jammu Bandh on April 7.
We cannot allow anybody to demoralise nationalistic forces in any part of the State. As a precaution, additional forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to avoid any untoward incident.
This was stated by BJP MLC Ramesh Arora Advocate while making a remark on prevailing situation in NIT Srinagar. In a handout issued here on Wednesday, Arora said that a team of BJP leaders from Kashmir headed by Faz Ahmad Bhat District President has met different sections of students in view of prevailing unrest in NIT Srinagar. “The aforesaid team also met central team from HRD ministry that visited NIT to take stock of situation there”, he added.
