J&K bags 3 Bronze medals in 15th National Wushu C’ship IGP Lohia felicitates medalists

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State bagged three bronze medals in 15th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship held at Patanjali Yog Ashram, Haridwar in Uttarakhand from 27th to 31st March, 2016.
The championship, organized by Uttarakhand Wushu Association under the aegis of Wushu Association of
India, witnessed participation of pugilists from 35 affiliated units of Wushu Association of India.
During the national championship, Ayesah Hayat bagged bronze in 20 kg girl’s category whereas Raghav Soni and Govind Pal clinched bronze medals in 30 kg and 48 kg Men’s events respectively.
H.K Lohia, IGP Technical Services Police Headquarters, J&K, who is also the Honorary Chairman of Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir (WAJK) on Tuesday felicitated the National games medalists at a function organised at Police Headquarters here. IGP lauded the performance of pugilists during the championship and said that J and K State has been able to produce quality pugilists who had brought laurels to the State.
He urged the medalists to start preparations for the upcoming events and
earn name and fame for
the State.
He said that the medalists are the role models for rest of the players and exhorted upon them to improve their game so that they represent and win for the state at national and international competitions.
He said that this
will only be possible if they
start practicing vigorously and aiming something
really big.
Among others, the felicitation function was attended by office bearers of Wushu Association of J and K that included Ranjeet Kalra, Vice President and Member BCCI, Vijay Saraf, Vice President and Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Coach of India in Wushu, Kamal Kishore, and
Ashi Jamwal as Coach and international medalist Rajinder Singh.
