Brigadier Rajinder Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament concludes;Sports vital for personality development: Ganga

SAMBA: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today distributed prizes among the winners of Brigadier Rajinder Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the best way to pay tribute to Brigadier Rajinder Singh could only be by encouraging youth to translate their abilities into success adding that the cricket tournament has successfully engaged the players with this vision.
The Minister complimented the organisers, winners and all the participants of the memorial tournament. He stressed upon the importance of sports in the personality development of youth and expressed the hope that they will seize such opportunities and rise to success. The tournament was which was inaugurated on 27 October saw participation of eight teams and 96 players.
High School Khadh Madaina lifted trophy while Parvez and Tariq were adjudged ‘Batsman’ and ‘Bowler’ of the series respectively. Picking up 8 wickets with 33 runs to his tally Vishav from Higher Secondary School Rakhya was adjudged as ‘Man of the Series’.
