JAMMU: Dr Manohar Lal Sharma senior Congress leader, former Minister and General Secretary PCC on Saturday slammed BJP government over the arrest of Rahul Gandhi Vice President Indian National Congress and Member Parliament in the recent incident of suicide of Retired Subedar Ram Krishan Grewal on OROP.
Manohar said that the fake propaganda of BJP government that issue of OROP has been resolved is baseless and misleading nothing concrete has been done in the issue except removal of pension anomalies in few cases. He raised a question that if the OROP has been resolved then why the Ex-servicemen (ESM) are still sitting on Dharna at Jantar Mantar.
He also decried the step of central dispensation to detain Delhi CM and Deputy CM over the issue of meeting the family members of the deceased ESM. He also condemned the roughing up of family members by the police.
Labeling Modi Government as dictatorial, he gave a detailed account of its tyrannical stand while dealing with people who dared to raise their voice against the lop-sided policies and prejudice. Naming comedian Kapil Sharma, NDTV anchor Ravish Kumar and several other such personalities, he said that these are the names who faced threats for questioning Modi Government’s policies.
He endorsed the stand of AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi that after coming to power, Congress will prioritize the mitigation of problems of ESMs and farmers. “The stand of Rahul Gandhi gave a boost to the morale of army who is guarding the borders of the nation”, he added.
Manohar also lamented the government on daylong ban on NDTV claiming it to be an attempt to suppress the voice of press and electronic media. He said that it seems that Modi Government is leading the country towards undeclared emergency.
