JAMMU: The symbolic chain hunger strike of All Migrant Employees Association of Kashmir (AMEAK) on Monday entered fifth day even as the Dharna continued for the consecutive 106th day with employees reorganising the setup to provide a boost to the ongoing agitation and vowed to intensify the agitation by organising more aggressive protests demonstration in future.
The volunteers of AMEAK who are on a sit in dharna at Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioners office for the past 106 days are seeking guaranteed safety and security for minority employees in Kashmir valley and release of salaries. The AMEAK volunteers reorganised the setup of the association to rejuvenate the agitation and prepare a protest calendar in view of the indifferent attitude of the government which is trying to force their return without guaranteeing them safety of life and property. Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC told the volunteers that the community leadership has warned the government for forcing employees to join under present circumstances and demanded immediate release of their pending salaries in view of the festive season.
Senior journalist and National Spokesperson APMCC King C Bharati warned the government that APMCC will resort to nationwide agitation if it tries to make Kashmiri Hindu employees as scapegoats even as the schools were being burnt down and administration has failed to protect even the locals of the Valley. The government wants to pass on the buck of its failure to Hindu employees and that will in no case be tolerated Bharati added.
The volunteers who sat on the 3rd, 4th and 5th day of symbolic chain hunger strike include Sandeep. Pawan, Vineet, Anchal, Sheetu, Rakesh, Sunil, Suneeta, Sanjay, Shashi Sahney, Ashok Bhat, Ramesh Bhat, Sunaina Bhat, Sweety Koul and Renu Pandita.
