KATRA: Vinay Koushal of Administrative Wing and Neha Badan of Central Office emerged winners in men and women sections respectively in carrom event of the ongoing sports meet for staff of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) at Sports Stadium, Katra in district Reasi on Friday.
In the men’s final, Vinay outplayed Atul Sharma of Central Office while Neha trounced her opponent, Hemali Ketan of the Central Office.
The participating staff in this ongoing sports meet represented various establishments based at Katra, Banganga and Central Office of the SMVDSB.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Amit Vermani was Chief Guest, who interacted with the participants and congratulated those winners and runners.
Earlier, Director Sports of the Board, Ashok Kumar presented a detailed report of the activities initiated by the sports wing, especially for the members from the staff. He disclosed that Carrom event shall be followed by the Table Tennis, Badminton and other indigenous and rural games.
Among others present were Deputy Manager, Sanjeev Kotwal, Aseem Chadha, Rajesh Sharma and sports assistant, Shubham Sharma.
