Teachers demand release of NPS salary

POONCH: A deputation of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) led by its District President Darshan Kumar called on District Education and Planning Officer Poonch, Makhan Lal Sharma on Tuesday.
The Teachers Federation stressed the government to release immediately the pending salary of teachers under New Pension Scheme (NPS). They highlighted that they are without salary for last five months and In Sathra and Bufliaz Zones they have not received of over 11 months.
The teachers falling under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) of the School Education Department have been without salaries for the last five months, where as in several zones they have not received their salaries for over 11 months.
The teachers expressed serious concern over unprecedented delay in release of salary.
The teachers said that they have to go too far off places to perform their duties but without salary they find many problems even they celebrated many festivals with empty pockets”.
They said that the government should release their pending salaries at earliest so that they may celebrate coming Diwali festival.
The District Education and Planning officer, Makhan lal Sharma listened the issue sympathetically and assured the delegation that their issue would be discussed on priority with the higher authority so that their (teachers) salary is released on time.
The teachers under New Pension Scheme (NPS) were on one day mass casual leave on 24th October to raise their issue. The Teachers appealed to the Chief Minister and Education Minister for their personal intervention.
