STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: The recent approval granted by the Union Government for taking over the construction of Bhaderwah-Chamba Road for joining the Jammu & Kashmir with Himachal Pradesh is one more decision of the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government aimed at providing better means of road connectivity.
This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan while terming the decision as one more initiative for accelerating the developmental activities in this border state as the network of well constructed roads is the basic requirement for bringing progress and prosperity in any region and regretted that the project was pending for the last many years due to the slackness of the previous governments in the State.
It is also a matter of elation that the road has been declared National Highway which shall facilitate the inter- state travel in the shortest possible time and encourage the tourism of both the states.
Balbir said that the assurance from the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari that Delhi- Amritsar- Katra Expressway Project will be completed in the shortest period of time is also an indication of the commitment of Union Government not to sit on vital projects but to accelerate their executions. The most important aspect of this highway is that it will link two holy cities of Amritsar and Katra.
The BJP Spokesperson further said that the state unit of BJP, on behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, express gratitude to the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways for his approval for construction of two roads in the state, from Dayalachak to Challan and Lakhanpur to Donera via Basohli for bettering the road transport facilities in the State. The party is also highly appreciable of the concrete efforts of the Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh for pursuing number of mega projects for the State with the Union Government.
