New Delhi: A delegation of All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) led by its Convener Th Gulchain Singh Charak met Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar at his office in New Delhi.
Expressing concern over the continued Pakistan sponsored terror attacks and losses of life of civilians and security forces, the delegation demanded an all-time lasting solution to the problem within the Indian Constitution. All members insisted on a strong befitting reply to Pakistan for her wicked misadventures. They highlighted the miseries of the border population who have been forced to evacuate leaving behind their standing crops and proposed construction of permanent shelters along the NH 1A from Madhopur to Jammu and Jammu to Poonch Road.
To resolve the internal imbalances and getting over various disputes of discrimination, the AJCSF recommended establishment of Autonomous Regional Councils for all three regions of the State.
Anan Sharma informed that over a hundred fuel tankers are stranded at Leh and the Valley for want of unloading storage facilities and the drivers are faced with starvation and exposed to cold climate.
Parikar took note of the point and issued instructions for immediate solution.
Charak explained in detail the necessity of launching a separate Duggar Channel from DD, Jammu. Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal projected the problems of the J and K Ex-servicemen and requested Defence Minister to be considerate and resolve the anomalies about the OROP and the 7 CPC as indicated by the three Chiefs and the ESM organisations.
Neeraj Anand emphasized over the losses to traders, industries and businessmen and sought for compensation and early resolution by involving all concerned parties.
The AJCSF delegation also met Dr Karan Singh who gave a patient hearing and supported the idea of regional councils and functioning of the both secretariats at the summer and winter capitals of Jammu and Kashmir as a lasting solution to various hold ups that come in the way of unhindered development of the State.
The delegation comprised of the prominent members, Abdul Majid, G.A Khawaja, Amanat Ali Shah, Col Virendra Kumar Sahi, S. Peter, Mohammad Aslam Qureshi, Brig. M.S Jamwal (Retd.), Yash Paul Gupta, Anan Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Syed Maqbool Kazmi, Kuldip Wahi, Col. Karan Singh (Retd.), Janak Khajuria and Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.
