Army commander interacts with students from north Kashmir

UDHAMPUR: Students of Bandipora and Sopore of Kashmir Valley, who were the part of a summer schooling camp-cum-students exchange programme organised at Pune, on returning back interacted with Lt Gen D.S Hooda, Army Commander, Northern Command and expressed their gratitude to army for giving them such opportunity.
A team of 20 students and two teachers of Army Goodwill Schools Bandipora and Sopore stayed at Millenium National School, Pune and participated in various activities including academics, sports, cultural and creative workshop, PRO Defence Col N.N Joshi said.
Besides this, he added, they also visited National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, witnessed a football match of Hero Indian Super League, visited IT industry and were exposed to a lot of new and innovative initiatives including career counseling.
Master Raja, a tour participant said that, “Such an opportunity comes only once in a life time and should be derived by maximum number of students in Kashmir”.
Showkat, a teacher who was part of the programme said that, we observed different cultures, languages and places of interest throughout the journey.
“Our country is an example of unity in diversity. We all appreciate the exposure and it was a life changing experience for us,” he added.
