Kathua: A ration dealer was on Saturday arrested and 44 bags of government sugar meant for distribution amongst public seized from his possession in Kathua District, police said. “We have arrested a ration dealer from Rajbagh area and recovered 44 bags of sugar meant for the general public of the area on government subsidized rates, which he had hoarded,” a police spokesman said. The accused has been identified as Onkar Singh, son of Netar Singh, resident of village Bimberwan, Rajbagh of Kathua District.
“A case FIR No 207/16 under section 3/7 EC Act, 409/420 RPC under various sections has been registered against the accused and further investigation has been initiated,” the police spokesman said.
