BARI BRAHMNA: Police on Wednesday arrested a person and recovered 5 kg poppy straw from his possession.
According to a report, a police party of Police Station Bari Brahmna led by ASI Mohan Lal while conducting patrolling at Bari Brahmna Bazaar, noticed the suspicious movement of one person who was coming from opposite direction with a bag in his hand. On seeing, police party, the said person tried to escape from the spot but the police acted swiftly and apprehended him near PNB Bank Bari Brahmna. During questioning, he disclosed his identity as Jasbir Paul son of Lal Chand resident of Bari Brahmna near Shri Om Hospital. On search of his belongings, five kg of pappy straw (Bhuki) was recovered from his bag. The accused person was arrested and a case vide FIR No.108/2016 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against the accused person at Police Station Bari-Brahmana.
