MENDHAR: All the ATMs installed by different banks in the border town of Mendhar are without a regular guard even during night hours which carries a risk of untoward incident at any time.
According to the locals five to 10 people enter the ATM room which is against the guidelines. This is disclosing the pin code of the account holders making it vulnerable to theft.
It is pertinent to mention that the illiterate and innocent people of this remote area frequently ask some one to assist him in conducting the transaction for which only a security guard can be relied upon.
The locals including Gulshan Kumar, Harjeet Singh, Kamal Kapoor, Tazeem Shah, Tariq Khan, Safiaz Ahmed and Hafiz appealed to various banks to provide security guards at each ATM for its safe operation and security.
